I am writing this as our wet summer turns to autumn and the old cliché of time flying by once again comes to mind! However, since welcoming you to our last wine list there have been several key changes.

We have two new senior members to the Nethergate Wines team. Ian Campbell from Churchouse Vintners and formerly of Berry Bros, who has a wealth of experience in the wine trade and will be liaising with customers primarily in Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire. And Charlotte Nicholson, a customer of many years has also joined us to liaise primarily with the trade in East Suffolk and Norfolk.

In these turbulent economic times there is much upward pressure on wine prices as with, it seems, nearly most products and services. Increased cost of wine at the vineyard, haulage, duty and in particular a weak Pound versus the Euro, Australian Dollar and New Zealand Dollar. In this list we have expanded our wines from South America where value for money is especially good.

We are also, of course, continuing to work hard and closely with our wine producers around the world. With their support and with our commitment to the long-term we have controlled price increases as much as possible.
