The Tempranillo from Vega del Castillo in the Navarra is an outstanding addition – ripe fruity wines with a pleasing structure and complexity. The Riojas from Viña Valoria continue to offer an excellent and wide range of drinking styles from the ripe, lightly oaked 2010 to the delicate but still surprisingly lively 1973.

In a supporting role, the Pata Negra Gran Reserva is enduringly and reliably fine.
