Chateau de Seguin, Bordeaux Supérieur

On the nose there are distinctive aromas of red and black fruit with some spice, while the palate is full with mellow tannins and a long, rich finish with a deep ruby colour with purple tints.  From a single 95 hectare clay and limestone vineyard arguably with Gallo-Roman origins.

50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc.

1 review for Chateau de Seguin, Bordeaux Supérieur

Surprisingly for the bordeaux region it is quite a dark savoury flavour, it would compliment beef bourginon perfectly and other sweet meat and game. Such as roasted chicken confit du canard , fois gras and other gamey sweet meats. It has a salty taste so pairing with fruits and cheeses will be excellent. I’d shy away from garlic or robust flavours like rosemary as the tannings are quite bitter; though light and crisp like cotes du rhone wines or claret. As for dessert it would not work unless the dessert is dark chocolate or coffee or dried fruits. I would not recommend to compliment cream or pastry desserts.
