Taylor’s ‘First Estate’ Reserve

Blended from young vines in the Cima Corgo area and mellowed by several years of ageing in oak vats, First Estate was produced to commemorate Taylor’s 1744 acquisition of its first property in the upper Douro valley, the Casa dos Alambiques at Lugar das Lages. Deep ruby in colour, it has a potent nose of concentrated fruit, crammed with blackcurrant, plum and liquorice; a luscious texture is supported by a firm tannic structure, giving the wine restrained elegance.
